Thornton Colorado is located about 15 miles North of Denver, and is on the East side of I-25. Thorntonís West Border is along I-25, and continues East all the way to Brighton. Thorntonís South border is at about 80th, and extends all the way to 160th on the North side. The largest geographic advantage to owning real estate in Thornton is proximity to both I-25 (which makes for a relatively easy commute to Denver), and proximity to Denver International Airport. Thornton Colorado residents can get to DIA in as few as 15 minutes, depending on where they reside in Thornton.

One of the most popular parks in the Thornton area borders Thornton and Northglenn. Although E.B. Rains Park is in the middle of the city, it has a beautiful man-made lake with paddle-boat rentals, biking trails, a huge sensory park, volleyball courts, basketball courts, picnic facilities, and acres & acres of grassy open space for those who arenít able to reserve picnic space. (E.B. Rains Park tends to book picnic facilities months in advance due to its popularity.)

Real Estate prices in Thornton CO are some of the lowest in the area. Single family homes in Thornton can be purchased for as little as $180,000, and the high-end prices for a Thornton luxury home rarely exceed $650,000. There are many condo and townhomes in Thornton that can be purchased well below $100,000. The further North homes in Thornton are, the newer they tend to get -- with the majority of New Construction going on North of 104th, and East of Washington St.

Living ďOut EastĒ has some disadvantages, but it has many advantages as well. Although Thornton is a good driving distance from most communities in the Denver/Boulder metro area, the views of the Rocky Mountains can be amazing from certain parts of Thornton!
