Lone Tree CO real estate and demographic information. If you are in the market for Lone Tree CO real estate, here are some facts that might interest you. The city’s population (including the Lone Tree postal delivery area outside the city limits) is 8,554, up from 6,899 in the 2000 Census. In the summer months you might find as many as 130 Lone Tree CO homes for sale, with about a fourth of those being condos or townhomes. Among the single family homes, as many as a third of them will typically be over a million dollars, top-of-the line quality homes with the highest up in the 3-point-something stratum. The prices for single family homes average in the upper $600K range, with the average price for a condominium just under $300K. The lowest prices you will find here will be in the mid to high 100s for a one-bedroom one-bath condo – and even at that “low end” of the market you will enjoy the convenient location, probably the use of a pool and community recreation facilities, and maybe even a mountain view.

Lone Tree CO amenities. You’ve got it both ways in Lone Tree. You’re conveniently located close to the Tech Center and Denver, and the Denver RTD Light Rail station at the southern end of Lines E, F & G connect you to anywhere in Denver. To the south there’s Castle Rock with shopping at The Outlets at Castle Rock – a hundred major brand outlets from Adidas and Aeropostale to Zales and Zumiez. There are bargain outlets for fashion wear and shoes, jewelry, perfumes, china, books, sporting equipment and you can take a break with a latté or spend a tantalizing interlude at the Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. There are plenty of great quality golf courses within a 10 mile radius, starting with the Arnold Palmer-designed 18-hole Lone Tree Golf Club, which is owned by South Suburban Parks and Recreation. The course was once a private club, but now it is open to the public and, as is characteristic of the Lone Tree area, offers spectacular mountain views. And course, having those great views is a reminder that our fabulous Rocky Mountains are close by – and they are made for more than looking. On trails within the community as well as up in the nearby mountains, Coloradans enjoy hiking, biking and all sorts of healthful outdoor exercise under the clear blue sky.

Living in Lone Tree. In addition to the extensive network of parks, and trails, Lone Tree offers three separate recreation centers, each with a full complement of classes, programs and facilities to satisfy any level of involvement. You might expect a city with such a high level of service to have a summer concert series – and of course there is one, so bring your blankets for Swing, Rock and Jazz on those summer evenings – but how about a Symphony Orchestra? The Lone Tree Symphony Orchestra presents a classical music series with concerts year-round, and they’re free! Residents also enjoy the benefits of being part of the very highly-regarded Douglas County school system. The town has two public elementary schools, Eagle Ridge and Acres Green, both of which are rated “High” in Overall Academic Performance on State Assessments. The American Academy at Castle Pines Charter School is rated “Excellent,” and as you would expect in such a progressive community there is a Montessori School. Middle schoolers go to either Cresthill which is “High,” or Deer Creek which has maintained a rating of “Excellent.” The High school is Highlands Ranch High, Home of the Falcons, which is of course rated “Excellent.”

Lone Tree today. There are 21 distinct neighborhoods or developments in Lone Tree, most with active Homeowner Associations. You won’t find any heavy industry in the area, since you might say it’s a bedroom community – but it’s a pretty active bedroom. No fewer than ten shopping centers dot the city, with a terrific variety of quality stores and services. There are over 300 businesses in the city, representing both national chains and homegrown enterprises and providing almost 4500 jobs. Although many workers commute to the technical and professional jobs in the Tech Center and Denver, Lone Tree itself provides a surprising level of employment. The largest employers in the city are in the retail, accommodation and food services industries, which together with the health care and social assistance vocations account for almost 70% of employment in the city. Finance, education and real estate (ahem!) professionals, and even some manufacturing operations round out the list. It might surprise you to know that there are twice as many Lone Tree jobs in Arts, Entertainment, and Recreation as there are in Construction. It’s a perfect combination, along with a health-conscious and upwardly mobile population, for the active and involved Colorado lifestyle.
