He fell in love with the area now known as Littleton and staked his claim. He brought his wife from back East and they, along with several other families, started the Rough and Ready Flour Mill. This helped establish the town economically. Little subdivided his plot of land to form the beginnings of Littleton Colorado. The town was incorporated in 1890, and gained the title of county seat in 1904. Littleton’s main industry was agriculture until after WWII when manufacturing took over.
