is conveniently located West of Denver, and Immediately off of Interstate 70 for easy access to dozens of ski resorts Ė the closest of which is only about a half-hour from Golden. Other activities Golden residents
like to take advantage of are going to Central City for a little gambling, visiting Blackhawk casinos and the opera house, scenic drives in about any direction, watching paragliders on Lookout Mountain, or visiting Heritage Square Ė an old-fashioned amusement park with a train ride, an alpine slide, dozens of other carnival rides, games, a childrenís theater, and amazing views of the entire Denver Metro area. Georgetown is just about a half-hour West on I-70 from Golden, and if youíre staying in Golden, book a ride on the historic Georgetown loop railroad for a scenic tour through a beautiful portion of Coloradoís Rocky mountains. Itís only about an hour ride, and well worth the trip. If youíre only in town for a short visit, at least plan on grabbing a bite or doing some shopping in downtown Golden
. The Golden downtown area is absolutely charming.
